SAMAHAN Arts offers multigenerational dance and music classes, public and private workshops, a Train-the-Trainer program, and performances at community events across San Diego County and beyond. Annual events — the Philippine Cultural Arts Festival, Concert of Filipino Folk Dances & Music, and the Pamana Junior Concert — highlight student progress. Our ensembles — SAMAHAN Philippine Dance Company, Rondalla Music, and Pakaraguian Kulintang Ensemble — are among San Diego County’s leading ethnic performing groups.

We teach and perform Filipino folk dance and music based on research and community practice. Weekly low-cost classes meet at two San Diego locations; free after-school classes run at several elementary schools; free workshops and master classes occur periodically. Our ensembles regularly perform throughout the region. The Creative Team — experienced dancers, ethnomusicologists, and musicians — works with the Board to shape curriculum and repertoire. In Spring 2025 the team completed a two-week Cultural Research Trip to the Philippines to deepen knowledge and community ties.
