Sining Samahan - The Art of Coming Together is celebrated in a two-hour concert showcasing traditional dances and live music by SAMAHAN artists in colorful indigenous Filipino attire. Three suites feature the dances and rituals of the Maranaos of Mindanao, Sama and Tausug of Sulu Archipelago, and Kalingas of the Cordilleras, accompanied by kulintang, gabang, and gangsa percussion performed by the renowned SAMAHAN Pakaraguian Kulintang Ensemble.
Featured as well are European- and Western-influenced dances—elegant Maria Clara pieces and lively central Philippine rural dances—accompanied by the SAMAHAN Rondalla String Ensemble. Energetic performances by both the Rondalla and Kulintang ensure a memorable evening.
SAMAHAN Arts showcases Filipino folk traditions through dance and music—rituals, courtship, and festivals—that embody the nation’s culture and heritage, reflecting Asian (Indian, Chinese, Indochinese, Indonesian, Malay) and Western (Spanish, American) influences.
